Deutsch, Emanuel Oscar Menahem
(1829-73)
   British orientalist. He was born in Upper Saxony. He became assistant in the oriental department of the British Museum in 1855. He wrote studies of Phoenician inscriptions, the Targumim, the Samaritan Pentateuch, and the Jewish background of Jesus.
